His academic journey includes a Bachelor's degree with a dual focus on Bible and music, complemented by a Master's degree from the esteemed Moody Bible Institute.

Dell is the visionary behind HFM, a ministry that broadcasts his teachings across America and to more than 83 countries worldwide. His literary contributions, filled with inspiring true stories, aim to deepen readers' faith and relationship with the Lord.

Married to Susan since 1976, Dell is a proud father and grandfather. Their son, Richard III, shares in the family's mission, actively participating in the Hyssongs' music ministry and overseeing the Joy For The Journey media productions. Richard's commitment to excellence ensures that each broadcast reaches audiences with the highest quality.

Richard's passion for gospel music led him to start a radio show in 2008, which continues to touch lives globally. Together with his wife Kelly, whom he married in 2005, they are blessed with two children, Makayla and Richard IV, who are being raised in a home filled with faith and music.
